Père Lachaise Cemetery, Paris

I mentioned prior to leaving for Europe that a couple friends suggested I check out Père Lachaise Cemetery in Paris. It is the cemetery where Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde, Jim Morrison, and many noteworthy artists, writers, dancers, and musicians are buried. It was our last day in Paris and the weather was beautifully gray. Perfect for visiting this amazing cemetery. I was working on my photography skills with a new lense and our whole visit was incredibly picturesque. I've edited down the many photos that I took to give you an idea of how beautiful this place was.

We walked on to the cemetery grounds and  all 3 of us (Kelli, my brother Garrett, and I) were in awe at the site of the many grand and intricate tombs and grave stones. The vast expanse of these large structures with all their architectural details and narrow pathways in between made the cemetery feel like its own little city.

There was this adorable empty metal frame on a post, so we decided to do a little photo shoot action.

Kelli and her yellow mittens made such a perfect model.

There was so much beauty in the details, I would highly recommend Père Lachaise Cemetery the next time you go to Paris, especially for anyone looking for design or artistic inspiration.

Edith Piaf

Getting ready for my Paris/London trip by listening to a little Edith Piaf while I draw some elevations for a client. She's amazing. I think you might be able to design a whole house inspired by her music. It has also been suggested by 2 different friends of mine that I go to the cemetery where Edith and others are buried. Apparently architecturally and visually speaking it's pretty fantastic. I'll have to add it to the list.

Paris & London

Thanks to my best friend and travel agent Ms. Kelli Black, I just booked a trip to Paris and London for the month of February. Just a week long, 3 days in each city, but I can not wait! Having never been to either city, it's time to start making my list of places to go and things to see. So far at the top of my list is some sort of flea market in Paris and Les Miserables in London.
