Stark Outlet - Costa Mesa

I was driving up the 405 fwy this week and got a nice surprise when I saw signage for a Stark Outlet in Costa Mesa. Happy day! If you want beautiful high quality carpet and rugs at good prices, I suggest you go check it out. I frequent the Stark Outlet at HD Buttercup, but this is much more convenient!

San Francisco Decorator Showcase 2010

Exterior. Home designed by Albert Farr and commissioned by Elsa Guggenhime in 1929.
Located at 2450 Washington Street.

Last Tuesday Kelli and I were able to visit the San Francisco design showhouse and it was fantastic! The rooms were beautiful and I loved collecting so many great resources after seeing everything in person. There were some really great designers featured, here is what I was able to capture on camera.

I was obsessed with both of these rugs. The reddish is an antique from Nazmiyal Collection and the yellow is a contemporary rug from Tony Kitz.

{Children's Playroom}

I loved this playroom and I'm not sure why I didn't take more photos in here. There was a cut out in the wall that made a really cool little cocoon room, so Kelli and I made ourselves at home...

I love watercolors of interiors. Here are a few from the talented Victoria Molinelli.

Victoria was also commissioned by Coleen & Company to create a series of fabulous vintage watercolors. Check them out here.

Home Fabrics - Santa Ana

I love shopping the garment district in downtown LA, but unfortunately it's a little far from Orange County to go as often as I would like. I have really only found one or two alternatives to the garment district here in Orange County and one of those is Home Fabrics on Bristol in Santa Ana, just down a few blocks from South Coast Plaza. It's definitely not the fabric Mecca that you would find in downtown LA, but you really can't beat their prices; pretty much everything is in the $1-$6/yd range.

I'm working on a teenage boys room and I was looking for a black and white bargain. You have to dig a little, but sometimes you'll across some gems. I didn't find the black and white I was looking for, but I couldn't say no the this heavy weight linen, I loved the color and pattern. Only $3/yd...

Also a great place for velvets, solids, and stripes...

For all of those DIYers out there, Home Fabrics is having an upholstery class this Saturday. I'm going up to Northern California for a wedding and to visit the San Francisco design house and I'm so bummed that I'm going to miss it.

La Cienega Update

My friend Coleen over at Balustrade & Bitters takes amazing photos, so I wanted to share what she captured down on La Cienega this past weekend. The windows were so fun to look at, but take a looksee at the photos below in case you weren't able to stop by.

Photo Shoot 2 of 2

Here are photos from the other home that Stacey photographed for me this past month. This living/dining/entry was one of my favorite types of projects - complete design from custom furniture to accessories. This Newport Beach family moved in to this modern house from a more craftsman style home in Huntington Beach. They wanted to start from scratch, and although we didn't originally plan it, we ended up having every piece of furniture custom made, with the exception of the white cabinet, which was an antique that I found here in Newport.

Here are a couple of the before photos...

Now time for bed! I have my first ever morning "surf sesh" and then off to LA to visit the La Cienega cooridor and check out the window displays and catch a few panels.
